Olympic Games: Day 12 (highlights)

AFTER all the glory and celebrations, on Day 12 our heroes fail to win one medal – the first blank day since July 29.

But it’s not all bad news: Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark make certain of either gold or silver in the 470 class in sailing at Weymouth.
Nicola Adams wins her semi-final to guarantee at least silver in the first-ever female boxing tournament in Olympic history.
10,000m gold medallist Mo Farah makes it through to the final of the 5,000m. Sophie Hitchon, above, breaks her own British record to reach the hammer final and Lisa Dobriskey reaches the 1,500m final.
Boxer Fred Evans is guaranteed a bronze after beating Canada’s Custio Clayton in the welterweight quarter-finals.
BMX rider Liam Phillips qualifies for the quarter finals in the Velopark.
