Olympic Games: Day 16 (highlights)

ANTHONY JOSHUA makes it three boxing golds for Team GB with a dramatic win over Roberto Cammarelle in the super- heavyweight final on the final day.

Joshua, 22, is unlucky to be trailing by three points going into the last round against the defending champion. But by the final bell, judges score the fight 18-18.
Despite an Italian appeal, the judges award the gold to Joshua.
The fighter, who only took up boxing four years ago, says: “That medal represents my journey and the support from my team.
“It is much more than a gold medal, it is a life experience.”
It’s a great day for the sport – Britain’s youngest Olympic boxer, Fred Evans, also wins a medal – a silver in the welterweight final.
The 21-year-old from Cardiff dedicates the medal to his mum Tracy, 39, and little sister Scarlett, four, who were killed in a car crash in 2006.
He says of his beloved mum: “She was my biggest supporter.”
It is a less successful day for Liam Killeen, 30, who crashes out of the men’s cross-country mountain bike event on the second of seven laps after breaking his ankle.
But in the final event of London 2012, Samantha Murray wins a silver for Great Britain in the modern pentathlon.
She has pulled back from a miserable start in the morning’s fencing with a strong swim and a great run-shoot finale.
Thrilled Sam, 22, from Lancashire, wipes away tears of joy as she collects her prize.
Later she says: “Four years ago I was still doing my A-levels at school.
“Honestly, if you have a goal – if there’s anything you want to achieve in life – don’t let anybody get in your way. You can do it.
“If I can do it, and I’m a normal girl, anyone can do what they want to do.”
